Angels in Waiting Files Three Complaints with Child Services About Octomom Nadya Suleman with Dr. Phil
According to their attorney, Gloria Allred, Angels in Waiting USA have reportedly already made three complaints to Child Protective Services about the octuplets’ mom. On two episodes of Dr. Phil, airing today and Thursday this week, AIW USA reps and Allred (and Suleman by phone on one segment) will talk about why the deal between the nonprofit organization and Suleman went sour. Allred tells Dr. Phil: “I think the real reason that Nadya has not been able to continue with Angels in Waiting may be the fact that not one but three reports had to be filed with Child Protective Service by Angels in Waiting [who] are mandated reporters under the law.”

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, parents of the adorable Harlow Madden, hosted a benefit for UNICEF’s Tap Project, which helps provide clean and accessible water to children around the world. Alfie Patten Leads to Sex Education for Five to Seven Year Olds
In a bid to lower the teenage pregnancy rate, primary schools in Great Britain have decided to deliver sex education to children as young as five to seven years old after boy-father Alfie Patten’s story emerged earlier this month. Children at 25 schools in the Midlands will be taught about boys’ and girls’ sexual organs and about relationships after 13-year-old Alfie reportedly became one of Britain’s youngest parents. The 13-year-old East Sussex teen reportedly conceived baby Maisie with his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman, 15. Alfie was 12 at the time and Chantelle was 14.

Designer Baby Plan Put On Hold At LA Fertility Clinic
The fertility clinic operator who grabbed headlines with his promise to help parents create “designer babies” has backed away from the plan—for the moment. Dr. Jeff Steinberg, director of The Fertility Institutes, earlier this year had offered parents the opportunity to select their future offspring’s hair, eye and skin color by genetically testing embryos. After an outcry, he changed his mind. “Though well intended, we remain sensitive to public perception and feel that any benefit the diagnostic studies may offer are far outweighed by the apparent negative societal impacts involved,” according to a statement posted on the clinic’s Web site this week.

Baby Bottle Companies and Manufacturers to Stop Using BPA
Connecticut’s attorney general says six companies have agreed to stop manufacturing baby bottles that contain Bisphenol-A, a chemical some studies suggest may be harmful to infants. Attorneys general from Connecticut, Delaware and New Jersey sent letters last October to 11 companies, asking them to stop using the chemical.

Octuplet Mom Nadya Suleman Gets $1 Million Porn Offer From Vivid Entertainment
Steven Hirsch, the president of the pornography studio Vivid Entertainment has made a $1 million offer to Suleman to make a porn video. He said the company would release the film under their “Vivid-Celeb imprint, which has released titles starring such personalities as Pamela Anderson, Kim Kardashian, and most recently, former Miss USA Kelli MCarty.” The site also reports that the company is offering her family dental and health care if she agrees to star in a series of films.
New Mom Rapper M.I.A. Not Likely to Perform at Oscars
M.I.A., 31, who gave birth to her first son last Wednesday a mere three days after performing at the Grammys–on her due date!–is a nominee for her collaboration on the son ‘O Saya’ from Slumdog Millionaire. Missouri Woman Buys Baby From Couple for $6,000
A Missouri woman faces a felony child abduction charge in Wisconsin where she’s accused of buying a baby from a couple for $6,000. Angela and David Schmidt of Kewaskum willingly sold their daughter, born a few days before Christmas 2004, at Auroroa Medical Center in Harford to Denise Novotny of Clinton, Mo., according to a criminal complaint filed Thursday. Novotny told the Schmidts to disguise the crime by signing a surrogate birth contract with Novotny and her husband, Scott, the complaint alleges. Denise Novotny was at the hospital for the birth of the baby. The Schmidts handed the infant to Novotny outside the hospital and have not seen the girl since that time, according to the complaint.
