This super cute gender reveal party at home featured pink onesies and bows and blue onesies and bow ties. Photographer Alison Pense was on hand to capture the big moment.

Family and friends posed with pink and blue photo booth-type baby props predicting whether it’d be boy or girl.

At the sonogram, the tech sealed the results up and the couple then brought it to bakery where they made the cake with pink or blue filling. We love the sweet sentiment that was written in green and yellow frosting:
“Pink or Blue… We love you!”

Everyone watched in anticipation of the new baby!

It was a cute way to reveal the gender and a great excuse to have a fun gathering with friends and family! Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

Isabel’s pretty and pink bird themed baby shower to celebrate her coming baby girl will take your breath away. Held at the Saratoga National Golf Club in New York, it resembled a small wedding.

Isabel has a huge family and it is clear how much love and support she will have as she brings her new baby girl into the world. They all did a beautiful job in choosing the small pink bird theme and paying attention to the little details that made this party something really special and memorable. We love how they brought the little bird in from the labels on the lollipops to bird cage diaper cake and table centerpieces. They even pinned photos to a cage showing Isabel throughout her life.

Guests had the option of rose champagne with floating berries or pink lemonade served in cute baby bottles with striped straws.

From miniature pink chocolate mousse and cookies to ice cream cone cake pops and onesie cookies, it was filled with sweet goodies for a girlie palette!

Levi Fox’s nursery is modern, fresh and not too babyish! His parents wanted something calming but also fun for a kid to grow up in and chose the silvery grey and blue color scheme for a calming effect for their baby boy.

It was personalized with letters to spell his name, purchased at Urban Outfitters.

The metal fox was made by Levi’s dad! He works in a metal fabrication shop and cut out this special piece of art for Levi.

The family are big Disney fans and made sure to pick up a few things for Levi when they stopped by Disneyland when mom was pregnant with Levi.

The soothing and serene nursery room is completed with two toned paint and molding, as well as chevron striped curtains, also from Urban Outfitters.

This super sweet baby shower celebrated a baby girl with a pink and purple bonanza. The totally adorable restaurant Norma Rae let the shower take over the entire place.

The party decor was based on the colors white, pink, and purple. Chinese lanterns in the shower colors hung from doorways and lamps. Helium filled polka dot balloons decorated the bar with the food.

The tables were decorated with white linens and watering cans in alternating pink and purple with polka dots, and they were filled with pink and purple Gerbera Daisies.

These adorable center pieces were made by the client’s mother.

 The dessert table was decorated with a homemade cake and other homemade goodies including candy and pink and purple marshmallows. It was also decorated with several diaper cakes.

The mom to be was surrounded in so many gifts, that when it was to open the gifts, we couldn’t all fit in the room with them and the desert table, so we had to move into a larger part of the restaurant.

Gifts included a moving clothing rack filled with custom clothes in every size from her family members, and a vintage crib decorated by a good friend.

The day concluded with a photo shoot with photographer Tanya Downs taking a portrait of all the women in Lisa’s family, as there were four generations of women together for the first time in many years.

It’s a pirate life for birthday girl Erin! She filled her birthday party with pink pirate goodies.

Pirates are always after buried treasure and what growing girl hasn’t figured out that gold and bling is what it’s all about!

The tables took on an underwater feel to remind everyone not to head to Davey Jones’ locker.

The cake took on a pirate at sea feel. It featured a chocolate pirate’s chest filled with gold dusted pearls and a crust of Graham cracker cookie crumbs to mimic the sand.

For Elle’s parents, her first birthday was a major deal! Being their youngest child they wanted Elle to have everything a Birthday Princess should.

To go along with Elle’s love for Hello Kitty her parents made sure it was clear what the theme was. The iconic kitten with her cute little bow made an appearance everywhere from the cupcakes to the goodie bags.

Elle’s parents rent out Las Vegas’ Kinderland and held her first party there for all of their friends to share in the fun!

One of Kristin’s big regrets is not having taken many pictures of her bridal shower. With baby on the way, she she was not about to make the same mistake twice, especially since her shower was being put together by some of the most creative women she knows. Kristin’s mother-in-law (Angie), Mom (Kay) and cousin (Stacey) enlisted the help of Belle Manjong of B. Belle Events to create an adorable pink baby shower.

The shower theme of Ribbons & Ruffles was incorporated into every aspect of the shower possible. Cakes by Appointment created a stunning ruffled cake while water bottles and pom-poms pulled more ruffles into the décor of the room.

A headband making station was set up in the corner for guests to make baby headbands for the soon-to-be arriving bundle of joy.

Along with decoration friends & family provided the amazing food spread which included a strawberry vinaigrette salad, meatball, grapes, grandma’s homemade chocolate chip cookies and more.

Kristin’s shower was truly one of the a kind with amazing vendors and a extremely creative theme, and she’s happy to have the pictures by Kelly Broyles to prove it!

Photographer Kelly Miranda decided she wanted to do something creative with her children to celebrate the summer season. A sunshine yellow lemonade stand photo shoot was right up her alley. With the help of her mother, she was able to construct a lemonade stand out of scrap wood. The banner was sewn out of scrap cloth and the jars were re-used jelly jars with the labels off.

“I found the lemon wheel rubber drink coasters and white wooden box at a local thrift shop, some fake lemons and a few bags of real lemons were purchases at the grocery store. This whole project was so much fun to create and is something I will be using for a very long time.

These little dolls were ready to rock and roll for the camera and there was no shortage of laughter and sour lemon faces. “We did have several people approaching us with nickels in their outstretched hands asking to buy some lemonade and they were sadly turned away as we didn’t prepare to actually sell any. But I’m confident these adorable kids could have made a million bucks in the park that day with those sweet little faces.”

With beautiful weather, it was a great day for a rustic party at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch.

This rustic styled family party is all about outdoors, fun and family togetherness.

The bright colors in the rustic setting, the fun hay bale seating at the table and the bed swing (big enough for the whole fam) set the mood for great time outdoors.

The table had the feel of a barn with mason jars for drinking cups and colored leaves as place card holders.

You can tell by the big smiles on the faces of the family that is exactly what happened.

This sweet and summer themed pink and yellow birthday party was a styled by Ali of Parties on a Pedestal for her daughter Bella’s birthday.

While the party took place outdoors, we love the whimsical feeling the Ali added by hanging tissue poms, tissue rosettes and paper lanterns in shades of pink and yellow from the tree for a chandelier effect over the kids table.

Ali used a perfect white ruffle waterfall linen to compliment the airy feeling of the table. Stunning!

Delicious goodies were decorated in the colors of the day. From lemonade stand cookies shaped in jars and lemons to a perfect cake with yarn balls on sticks.

For an activity, Ali set up a crafts table with the girls could create their own flip flops to run around in the summer.

Baby hurry up and don’t wait because you have an important baby shower date! This fun-filled baby shower for Robyn had an “Alice in Wonderland” theme.

Focusing specifically focused on the Mad Hatter’s tea party, this colorful celebration took the craziness of the Hatter’s personality and applied it to the decorations.

Signature Alice components were found at the day. From the sign showing guests where to fall down to the rabbit hole to tea sets saying “Eat me” and “Drink Me” you could find Alice with a Cheshire grin.

Towering diaper cakes topped with the hatter’s signature hat were covered in confetti for a haphazard look.

 The beautiful candy table featured swirl lollipops popping out of a tea pot and check out the Cheshire cat making an invisible appearance on the jelly bean jar on the right!

 This adorable baby shower was complete with a “custom onesie station” and photo booth featuring props to disguise guests as classic Alice characters.

Now that we know Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting a baby girl, we’re imagining ways this glamorous couple will decorate their future princess’ nursery. For her crib, we’ve selected the beautiful Gilded Fantasy Bedroom Coach.

Karla and Anthony were recently given a lovely baby shower to help them welcome their baby-to-be Mila into the world. The shower was held at the club house in the community where they currently live in San Jose.

As an invitation designer, you know Karla was excited to design the invitations for the shower, as well as a lot of the details that made the event so special.

The shower was early in the day, and guests were treated to a brunch themed menu featuring items like mini chicken and waffles, delicious home style potatoes and more.

They all played games, including one where the were given paper hearts with letters in them. They weren’t allowed to say certain words, and when they were caught saying any of the words, the person who caught them could steal their letter. The goal was to collect enough letters to spell out “Mila Gray” It was so fun to watch everyone compete and have fun!

The dessert table featured baby Mila’s monogram and was covered in grass to give it an Earthy feel.

All in all it was a great day, and everyone is so excited to meet baby Mila! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Little Jaiden is going to be an athlete when he grows up. At least that was the inspiration for his first birthday sports party bonanza!

From football and basketball to baseball and soccer, his parents covered the bases (pun intended!) in choosing their sports.

Plus they even showed their pride for their favorite sports teams with balloons and decorations.

For Bernadette’s Paris themed French Bébé Soiree photographer Jaye Kogut captured this gorgeous black, white and pink baby shower that makes us say Ooh La La!

The day started with dazzling menu cards featuring the iconic Eiffel tower and wrapped with sparkling ribbon and topped with a perfect Le Vie En pink Rose.

 It took place at a little cafe called “Cafe Paris” in Metuchen and family and friends gathered to give well wishes to the mom-to-be!

Guests feasted at tables set like a French cafe. Flower arrangements made of white and pink roses and wrapped with black glittering ribbons made for beautiful table centerpieces. And what’s a French themed shower without enormous French bread rolls at each seat!

The desserts took on a French theme as well with beautiful and delicious pastel macaroons and an Eiffel tower inspired stack of cupcakes, topped with the statue of course.

This little baby girl is sure to be spoiled when she arrives! Thanks for sharing with us!

Photographer Vivian Sachs covered the quite a colorful baby shower for excited parents, Annaliese and Daniel.

As usual, she was not surprised that it would be a photo-perfect baby shower held at the historic Adobe building in Mountain View, California, as Annaliese loves decorating and planning!

Using bright colors for the shower, this baby boy is going to make a bold statement. The event was decorated in orange, lime green and bright hues of blue. The dessert table backdrop banner made of ribbons added depth and an amazing pop of color.

And creative talent runs in the family! All the darling little cupcakes and cake were done by Annaliese’s cousin!

Guests were encouraged to share their creative sides as well. The activity at the shower was to decorate a onesie for Annaliese’s baby boy.

After the decorations were added, the onesies were hung on a clothesline for all to see!

There are a lot of kids in America that are looking to be adopted.  Robert and Joanna are friends of photographer Desi, and opened their hearts and their home to little Gabby and Alex.  “They have raised these two kids as their own for the past 2 years, all the while not knowing if they would eventually become their own or not.”

This is the celebration that their adoption finally went threw and Gabby and Alex are officially part of their family. It’s a worthy celebration completely worthy of Desi capturing.

Now that Gabby and Alex are officially part of the family, we love this family tree arts and crafts project that they made there.

Crafts were a big part of the day, with crayons, markers and other fun crafty items to play with and decorate for these two deserving kids.

At the end of the day, there were cakes to celebrate birthdays and the many more that would come as a happy family.

For this happy couple, it’s all about the two children they can now call their own.

There’s no doubt about it, gender reveals are the hottest thing in baby world. Whether you are announcing “it’s a boy” or “it’s a girl” to friends and family by cutting into a cake at a party, releasing balloons in photography, or video chatting with those not in a doctor’s office, the big moment is something that is now shared in celebratory fashion.

This one sent to us by Christina Fleming at Murasaki Media included the families two older children collaborating on an arts and crafts paint project with paint. Will it be blue or pink? It was a joy for Holli from Madame Brown to photograph her friend Anita’s sweet baby girl’s first birthday party.  The theme was vintage circus and was so fun!

Anita used colorful scrapbook paper to make cones for the pink cotton candy and patterned paper for the custom cupcake toppers.

Using yellow for accents was perfect in this happy room where the party took place.

Coralyn was full of smiles and stole everyone’s hearts. Thanks for sharing her sweet day with us!

This birthday girl’s favorite things to do is go round and round on the carousel. So the theme for her first birthday party was created around a vintage carousel to make her wishes come true.  Stephanie from Bella Bella Studios designed this party in rich colors of of pink and turquoise. Pretty patterns of stripes, pink diamonds, baroque frames, and vintage inspired flowers all accenting the embellished carousel horse.

There were yummy finger foods, desserts and homemade blueberry lemonade to sip from. “It was a pleasure to see the little guests’ eyes light up at this whimsical and magical party.”

“My client came to me and wanted something special for her daughter’s 1st Birthday. I designed the carousel horse for the birthday girl and her Mom requested for the designs to have a vintage shabby chic feel. She also favored the soft pinks and turquoise blue colors. I incorporated the colors and I also designed a floral pattern that added an extra touch of girly girl feel to it all! I was very pleased with the way all of the party decor turned out.”

Upon arrival to the party, guests were treated to rides on the carousel at Santa Monica Pier. “All of the guests young and old lit up with excitement when they found out they were going to ride the famous carousel.” After riding round and round, the guests dined on boardwalk corn dogs and cotton candy.”

After playing at the pier, guests returned to a private party to play old fashion games of pin the tail on the carousel horse, Boardwalk Bingo, and drop the clothespin in the mason jar. Guests then celebrated the birthday girl with more yummy treats of cupcakes, ice cream, and lollipops!

A great DIY project Stephanie did for the client were cupcake toppers. For this party, we used them on the cupcakes.

It’s beyond bittersweet the day your little one turns the big one! There is the overwhelming joy of them turning a new leaf, making new discoveries… to the semi sadness they are growing up WAY too fast. All we can say is cherish the moment… each and every moment, as they really do grow up so quickly. For photographer Katryna,
her sweet daughter Kaleigh’s 1st birthday princess celebration started out with a fun and hilarious cake smash photo session where Kaleigh was able to taste her first sweets.

It’s clear she thoroughly enjoyed them. Katryna made Kaleigh’s crown for her photo session out of two 8.5″ x 11″ cardstock cut into the shape of a crown and adhered together by double sided adhesive roll and then wrapped with decorative wrapping paper to give a whimsical look.

The color pallet was inspired by Kaleigh’s nursery, a range of deep coral pinks, reds and incorporated light pink undertones. “In addition to the time of year, the party was a week from Valentines day so I wanted to carry through the colors and theme into some of the details of the party.”

The crown theme carried over into her birthday party celebration where Kaleigh’s cake was a three-tiered Ombre styled cake topped with a fondant crown. The cake was made of vanilla cake and fresh strawberry butter cream filling and so scrumptious.  She also had vanilla cake and fresh strawberry puree filled cupcakes topped with crowns & pearls.

 We’ve featured several of Lauren from Crave Indulge Satisfy‘s parties before and we can’t believe how time flies. It seems like yesterday we were revealing Sam’s teal and orange boy nursery room and now it’s time to share the details of her son Sam’s turning one with a little man bow tie and mustache birthday party.

Lauren wanted the focal point of the birthday dessert table to be all about Sam, so she used the same DIY chalkboard from his invitation photo shoot and customized it with his name and a #1 tie. (“Sam’s daddy is the chalkboard artist in our house!”) The backdrop for the table was created using wood planks and embellished with three hanging garlands of ties/bow ties, polka dots and mustaches. Paper medallions and balloons were used to create some bold pops of color to finish off the look.

Mustache brownies, tie/bow tie cookies and cupcakes with mustache and fabric bow tie toppers were served for all the guests to enjoy. Flanking all the sweets were a larger chocolate polka dot cake and Sam’s smash cake. The cutest polka dot and stripe forks we’ve ever seen from SucreShop were offered to guests for easy eating.

Adjacent from the dessert table was the favor/photo station. Pictures were displayed from an old vintage window found at a local antique shop of Sam from birth to one. Candy was displayed in apothecary jars for guests to “fill their stache” in favor bags as they left.

Sam’s party invitation and his first finger painting masterpiece were displayed as guests entered the party. “I stole this idea from my friend Jamie. She had her son Jonah do this for his first birthday and it was absolutely adorable! I must say Sam has some great artistic ability!”

Carrying on the tie/bow tie, polka dot and mustache theme from the dessert table, three more garlands were hung from this old eight pane window that hangs above our couch.

Lemonade was served in mason jars with mustache stripe straws!

Our dining room table was decorated with a lime green burlap runner and yellow ribbon and sprinkled with mustache and circle confetti. Simple spring flowers were placed in antique blue mason jars.

Since we had his big celebration at the end of his birthday week, Lauren decided to make the #1 out of photos taken only from his birthday week.

Sam’s party was over Easter weekend so we decided to have an egg hunt for a fun activity with all the kids.  Adorable mustache eggs were found online and perfect for the kiddies. All the outdoor tables were decorated with mustache and circle confetti and flower pots wrapped with bow ties and filled with Easter eggs.

“We also created a photo booth area with props for the guests to have fun and be a little silly carrying out the mustache and bow tie theme!”

Let’s just say this little guy loves him some cake and icing! “Sam had a blast digging right in and flinging icing all over his forehead and hair! I even ended up with a streak of yellow icing in my hair somehow.”

“I just love the pictures my sister was able to capture, his facial expressions are priceless! Check out that yellow icing in his hair! Absolutely love this facial expression, he has definitely been smiling and laughing! I love this little guy so much! Look at that little face!”

Angry birds is one of the most popular games available for mobile devices and it’s a favorite for a little girl celebrating her birthday. DatNhan from Whisker Paper Scissors pulled all the wild elements from this game to put together a fun-filled Angry Birds dessert table for her birthday.

Vanilla macarons were displayed inside little DIY nest and labeled as “eggs” that need to be rescued.

Fruit cups filled with berries and grapes.

Gummy worms labeled as an “Early Bird Special” and M&Ms labeled as “Angry Bird Droppings”.

Some very angry, Angry bird cake pops. The faces are perfect!

Chocolate pig face cupcakes adorned with little pink bows and sparkly crowns.

 And of course, a fun Angry Birds cake scene in fondant.

The pigs are mean, but don’t you just love this adorable family of pigs?

To complete the table, DatNhan included “level 4″ cookies in honor of the birthday girl’s age and slingshot cookies.

For activities at the party, DatNhan included Angry Birds themed games, like Knock Down the Pigs and Pin the Birds on the Pigs.

At the kids tables, popcorn boxes and fruit cups were set up at each seat and placed jars of pretzel sticks and carafes filled with lemonade at the center of each table.  ”To keep the kids occupied while at their seats, we had little red and white polka dot boxes filled with crayons and glitter glue along with Angry Bird coloring sheets and yellow crowns for them to decorate.”

Party favors included Angry Bird activity books, crayons and some goodies nestled inside a “TNT” box.

Since this will be the last child for Laura of  Laura’s Little Party, she thought it would be fun to do something she didn’t do with her previous three children, a gender reveal party! Deciding whether her baby would wear a tutu or a necktie became the theme of the day, with the outfit accessories decorating everything from banners to cupcakes.

Laura knew right away that she wanted to style her Ties or Tutus gender reveal party using gray and yellow as her color palette. The happy colors created a neutral and happy tone for the rest of the day.

Her 20+ guests indulged in yummy desserts, tasty appetizers, and three different fruit spritzers. Drinks were served in milk bottles, and yummy mixed greens were eaten out of Mason jars.

“I created a simple backdrop of yellow, white, and gray paper fans, and refurbished an old dresser I purchased from goodwill, and made it our dessert table! I collected empty wine bottles from my girlfriends, and turned them into simple centerpieces.”

Cupcakes, cookies, marshmallow pops, chocolate  covered pretzels, and cake pops were among the several delicious desserts offered on the beautiful dessert table.

The beautiful cake announced the gender of her 4th baby. “We were so excited to finally tell our family and close friends that we are expecting another boy!“

When the girls of MKR Creations get together to throw a party, you know that no detail will be over looked. This was given for one of the member’s friend.

After seeing ideas for strawberry themed parties, they selected the friendly fruit as the theme for this baby shower. Colorful scrapbook paper was used to create the banner going across the bottom of the dessert table, while pink and lime green onesies hung across the top. That strawberry embellished bib was the perfect topper.

White chocolate covered strawberries were ideal on the dessert table, but what really caught our eye were the strawberry onesie cookies and the green and white striped bib cookie, topped with what else? A frosting strawberry!

Other yummy dessert table sweet treats included cake pops, rice krispie pops and chocolate covered oreos, all coordinated in the pink and green colors.

From baby clothes to favors, what a better way to put all their ideas together for such a great event.  To welcome baby Charlize to this world with lots of strawberries!

In the beginning she created an inspiration board, full of all the items she could move around her house. “My husband and I didn’t find out gender prior to our baby’s birth so we wanted to keep a relatively neutral palette.  I decided to keep the walls a nice warm color and the main furniture pieces white so they can easily transition to other rooms if needed.  I found the artwork above the crib online and I love that it brought in some great colors.  I drew the coral color out of the artwork with the rug and then used some greens and blue from the piece to accent the room.”

Focusing on keeping the base layer of the room neutral, Jenna punched it up with some fun accents.  The art piece above the crib provided the perfect jumping off point for bright greens and corals. “My favorite piece in the room is the rug.  The circle breaks up all the hard lines and provides a cozy spot for the kids to play.”

Upon entering the nursery visitors see the crib.  The room is on the main level of her home and guests walk by it when they use their guest bath.  “I love that when you peek in the door you see the crib and clearly know that our little lady lives there.”

For Jenna what really brings the room to life is the small accent which show the true personality of the space.  ”I love the four artwork prints above the changing table.  I found the frames at my parents house and spray painted them and added printed paper from Papersource.  They whole project only cost about $10 and adds a ton of charm to that wall.  I also love the quirky and playful elements you can add in a child’s room.  The lamp base and the hook on the wall is an owl and the bright color and pattern of the rug make it feel so cheery.

For a festive accessory, check out the Christmas tree with little disco balls which Jenna took down in January, but might leave up all year round. May we suggest adding baby ornaments to it?!

When asked what their favorite thing to do is, sweet little Kaitlyn and Kennedy will gladly tell you, “To have tea parties.” Kaitlyn and Kennedy are two of the most fun little girls you could meet. When it came time for photos of the girls, their mom Nicole, had a great surprise in store for them.

Before the shoot Nicole and Jen of Josh and Jen Photography worked around the clock making props and most importantly putting our “wall” together. “In order to create this all we needed lots of paper and tape!”

The two most common household items can make for something so beautiful and original. In order to achieve this look the Josh and Jen team took a book of scrapbook paper and hand picked pages. This wall goes from dark to light following a checkered pattern on the way down. The 8×8 “wall” had these two princess’ excited for what was to come.

When time came for the tea party Nicole had surprised them with homemade cupcakes, a set of pearls for each other them and gowns to match.

Kaitlyn and Kennedy paid no mind to the fact they were in a studio, or to the fact that there were flashes and cameras going off, all these two sweet girls cared about doing was pretending they were at a fancy tea party just or them.

Photographer Jessie of  The Emerics had the privilege of co-hosting a baby shower with her sister, Norma, for their good friend, Veronica. Since she’s having a baby boy, they chose a “Little Man” theme and used blue, white, and green colors for the signs and decoration. Love the necktie banner they made from patterned scrapbook paper!

“We kept it small and intimate with about 12 girlfriends and totally DIY. My husband, Jason, designed the invitation and food signs, and advice sign. Norma made the cute tie garland.”

We knew we didn’t want to play the traditional baby shower games that make you eat baby food or measure the mommy to-be’s belly, so we played pin the mustache on Burt Reynolds, and other fun games.

They thought it’d be fun to have some “man food” to go with the theme, so the menu consisted of “bow tie” pasta salad, mini man’wich sandwiches, and mini nacho cups.

For drinks they served root beer, green apple & blueberry soda!

For dessert we also included a fruit platter and cheesecake cups with blueberries! “My sister made the yummy cupcakes with the adorable fondant ties and mustaches!”

“As thank you favors, we made chocolate mustache pops, that were a huge hit!”

This “Some Bunny to Love” baby shower was designed for DatNhan of Whisker Paper Scissors‘ friend Jill’s third child. Initially inspired by the Baby Gap Beatrix Potter collection, she knew from the beginning that this shower would be a Peter Rabbit themed celebration since Jill’s due date was just before Easter.

While DatNhan already knew the gender of the baby, but she didn’t want the table to be screaming “It’s a Boy!”,  so she chose to keep the details simple and the colors nice and subtle.  ”My color palette of soft greys, blues and whites was also heavily influenced by the location of the event.  The baby shower was held at our friend’s beautiful home, which has a very modern rustic charm with lots of neutral colored furniture and gorgeous views of the beach and water.  Whenever possible, I like to play off the surroundings and let the sweets table blend into the environment — I was lucky to have such a great space to work with!”

DatNhan believes every event should have a sweets table, no matter how big or how small.  At this lovable bunny baby shower, delicious tea sandwiches, appetizers and drinks were served, so the sweet treats were kept to a minimum.  Confections included madeleines, vanilla cupcakes, shortbread cookies, fruit cups and a few jars of candy…. just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth!  The backdrop was also omitted for this sweets table allowing the natural light through the window to act as the backdrop.

Terry is as lovely a person inside as she appears on the outside, so the lovely ladies of 11 Magnolia Lane were thrilled to host this special baby shower for her. As Terry is also an event planner by trade, the party had to be extra special since for a change, she was the guest of honor not the organizer.

As the guest of honor, Amy made her the “Queen Bee” for the day! “Being the mama already to two beautiful boys, she was understandably hoping for a baby girl this time, and for this reason, we wanted to make sure the focus was on her as much as on welcoming baby boy #3.” Terry is also the Queen Bee in her family of 4 boys (including her hubby), and the bee made for a perfect theme. “We fussed over her, complete with a tiara and sash for the sweetest Queen Bee we know!”

Flowers, invitations, table linens etc. were all in the bee yellow, black and white color scheme and for an elegant touch, Amy mixed in damask and polka dots.

“We also integrated “B is for Baby” and “Bee Sweet” to make sure her new little one got the welcome he deserves as well.”

We also made a decoration for the baby’s room at the party. At the time Terry was thinking the room decor would be turquoise and gray, but like you all, I am waiting for the “reveal” to see what she settled on. Going with the rumor at the time, I purchased scrapbook paper in that color scheme. I actually couldn’t find gray chevron so I printed some sheets with the chevron then cut it down into triangles. We asked each guest to write a note to the baby on the back of each pennant, and hopefully she will hang it in his room as a keepsake.

Most moms-to-be don’t have their nursery done before the second trimester is over, but Jenn is a planner and couldn’t wait to finish baby Mason’s nursery room. She’s also a self-professed decorating “freak”. “I just love having everything all set and ready to go just in case the little mister wants to come early!

“A lot of people have asked me what my “inspiration” was for the nursery. I love the color turquoise and boy or girl I really wanted to use that color. After finding out Mason would be a boy, I immediately was drawn to the lime and yellow accents for his room. I wanted something bright and cheerful but also chic and sophisticated.”

She also knew she wanted to paint a mural for baby number two.  “I really do like how it came out! I had seen a decal of these trees on Etsy and thought to myself “I can do that!” I’m actually glad I painted them instead of getting the decal… After putting on a couple decals I think the painting was the easier route! Although, the act of painting them was definitely a labor of love.”

On Jenn’s back is a tattoo of a family of birds. She got the first two love birds when she was just 17 and dating her husband. When Parker was born, she added a little blue bird to the family and fully intends to add little Mason’s blue bird as well after he arrives. Since she loves birds so much, she couldn’t think of a better way to showcase something she loves dearly into her son’s room.

“I never shop in just one place, I like to pull items from a variety of places to create a room when I decorate. I think this is my favorite part – shopping around in different stores and online and finding things I love that I think will look great together. A lot of things I found this time around were on Etsy.

“I must say I am really happy with how the nursery turned out! I feel like I will be able to spend hours in there and not get tired of the decor. It’s simple but colorful and cheerful, a really great combination!” Now all she needs is her sweet little Mason to complete the nursery.

This was such a clever birthday party theme for a little boy named Bentley! It was called Camp Bentley and it was an all-out themed event in his backyard complete with a nature scavenger hunt, trail mix buffet, frito pie bar, authentic animals from The Creature Teacher, s’more kit party favors and more!

Guests were greeted to this Earthy filled birthday party by a personalized banner hanging between the trees. It featured all things camping like a camp fire, tents, and Bentley’s name with letters formed out of trees.

These stumps below were such a great detail – these were the chairs that all the kids sat on! Bentley’s dad personally cut these from a dead tree in their backyard!

What’s a better snack for a camping party than trail mix? At Bentley’s camping party, each guest got to make their own brand of trail mix from the buffet table of ingredients. Pretzels, candy, peanuts and others goodies were options at the buffet. And we love the tree trunk centerpiece holding the pine tree printable sign. For dessert there was a cupcake cake, with a tent on the top sitting right by the campire made of frosting.

As an activity, the kids got to go on a scavenger hunt for nature items like pinecones, rocks, and colored leaves in the area. When they left, they went home with s’mores kits as favors… the perfect camping treat!

These animals were amazing for Melissa Darst to photograph. “Bentley had chosen animals to come out to his party and each kid was able to touch them, take photos with them and then learn fun facts about each animal. That green-eyed tree frog was my favorite with all of its colors! I swear he knew how to work it for the camera because he would look straight at me. Below he hopped onto the birthday boy’s head – how special!”

Yarilda of Simply Divine Event Decor had fun designing this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse first birthday party. Originally it was going to be a Teddy Bear theme, but she was so excited when the client changed her mind to this colorful option.

Each wooden letter was designed with a character in the clubhouse. To make them more realistic Yarilda used a 3D detail on some of the wooden letters.

Aren’t those columns amazing?! The Mickey Mouse columns made of balloons were created by the birthday boy’s grandmother, Marlene Barreiro.

“Something my client asked me was the name of the happy birthday boy  ’DAMIAN”’ on the dessert table. I immediately began the search for the perfect cake to be the center of my inspiration.”

Photographer Krista Lucas celebrated her friend Lila’s first baby with a safari themed baby shower. And when planning a party, it helps that your family is a fabulous designer of printables like Abigail of Paper and Cake.

Krista chose the colors based on Abigail’s printable set, and used plants that Lila already had for African jungle decorations.

The menu was brunch, so we had two types of egg dishes, fruit, muffins, scones, mini cinnamon rolls and danish pancakes, with lemon bars, and fudge for dessert. For drinks we served citrus water, cucumber water, orange juice and iced coffees.

Krista bought a small photo album and some 4×5 cardstock in fun colors and asked guests to leave an encouraging note for the parents-to-be to read when they were exhausted or at their wits’ end! “The direction signs (love these!), and the wooden animals came from her other shower in Texas.” We love how she placed them in the plants!

“I also loved the party favors – a bag of animal crackers/circus animal cookies. We played the “guess the baby food by what it looks like” game and baby gift bingo while Lila opened her presents. Her shower was fun and relaxed and I know she enjoyed it!”

Photographer Melissa Darst has an awesome life-sized gumball machine and used it for a fun photo shoot honoring a little Miss C.

 But equally as fun for her, was the rainbow gumball themed birthday party it was for! Melissa captured this incredible fifth birthday party with gumballs and bubbles everywhere.

Complete with tons of family and friends, plus bubbles, bubble gum machines, all things pink (her favorite color), lots of sugar and even a balloon artist, who made countless pink poodles.

“I absolutely love to shoot birthday parties and it was such an honor to be a part of Miss C’s big day.”

At the time of her baby shower, Iryna’s friend did not know the gender of the baby. Since her friend is French, when they started planning her baby shower, they definitely wanted to have a Parisian/French flair. Opting for a gender reveal theme, the main colors were pink and blue to say ‘bonjour’ to baby!

At the entrance, a voting station was set up just past the bonjour sign attached to an Eiffel tower.

Arriving guests could vote for a girl or boy by putting baby pins in the baby bottles. What a great way to see who voted for more!

“We made guests to play game of translating French baby items into English. And then we had a couple of games for parents-to-be, like practicing to change diaper and trying baby food.”

A beautiful Parisian style candy buffet was created as the main centerpiece of for the party.  Iryna made two table tutus – blue for the
buffet table and pink for the cake table. To add to the gender reveal theme, she flanked the dessert table with spiraling balloon sculptures.

The centerpiece of the candy buffet was a beautiful black and white painting of a chandelier. Iryna also handmade a special little carriage stroller diaper cake with an Eiffel Tower blanket.

We also love the ‘Bon Bons’ banner draped across the front of the dessert table made with layers of scrapbook paper in circles and rosette shapes.

There is no French party without delicious macaroons. Beautiful–and delicious–pink and blue macaroons were ordered, and looked regal next to pink and blue cupcakes, and Fleur-de-lis chocolate pops that Iryna made herself. Mommy-to-be and her mother-in-law made some delicious cupcakes and Eiffel tower cookies.

At the end the happy parents revealed the gender by opening a huge box with balloons… of blue color. It’s a BOY!!!

There is something about 1st birthdays that is really special to photographer Desi.  For a lot of the guests, it’s actually their first time meeting the birthday boy/girl, and it’s just a major milestone for both babies and parents.  “We thank the Kerekes family for choosing us to document this special day in their baby Keegan’s life.”

Desi is always honored to be a part of a child’s life, even if it is just to photograph their first birthday. For Keegan’s first birthday party, it took place at the Zoomars Petting Zoo in San Juan Capistrano.

“We’ve actually never been to a petting zoo, so we didn’t know what to expect. This place is awesome!  There were tons of activities for the kids.”

Iryna’s husband is Brazilian and in Brazil it is a tradition to celebrate your baby’s first birthday with a BIG party! "We went to a couple of first birthdays and they were amazing. But I also knew that parents spent lots of money, which I didn’t want to spend. So then I came up with the idea of doing everything myself and keep the budget low." Inspired by a huge Mickey Mouse that she knew would make a great inspiration for the party, Iryna set out to create a first  birthday party with all things Walt Disney!

For her magical world of Disney color palette, Iryna chose primary colors in be red, blue, yellow and green, to make a striking visual in her House of the Mouse.

She made her birthday invitations out of simple cardstock. "I cut out a black Mickey head and attached a red pocket with two buttons. Inside the pocket I’ve inserted a little note with the information about the party."

With more great Disney items in the house, Iryna also found great Disney stuffed animals at her local thrift store which cost a mere 50 cents each. For the centerpieces for the tables Iryna bought some small buckets and inserted Styrofoam inside. Then added some curled chenille steams, shredded paper and Mickey theme cutouts on the bamboo skewers. "I also attached little styrofoam Mickey heads and balloons."
So cute!

"I learned online how to make a balloon arch (balloon decorations are a big party of Brazilian culture) and the backdrop I painted myself.

The Mickey topiary was made out of Styrofoam balls and lollipops was a huge hit with the kids just loving it.

"I also made the goodie bags (bought some red yellow blue and green paper bags and decorated them with Mickey characters. Inside I put lots of goodies like Mickey crayons, watches, candies etc. A custom made Brazilian cake
was the dessert for the day along with traditional candies called Brigadeiros."

The dress for my daughter was hand sewn by my sister and my cousin.

"People just loved the party! I had some Brazilian guests who were very surprised that I made everything myself, since most of them thought I hired a professional party decorator!"
