A Preppy Lilly Pulitzer Backyard Baby Shower

Are you a Lilly girl? Lilly Pulitzer has been a designer of preppy fashions since the 60′s and is the Queen of pink and green. In honor of her first granddaughter’s arrival, Janice had a baby shower for her daughter in her favorite designer’s colors. Janice asked her guests to come in their Lilly best, modeling their favorite Lilly outfits. This pink and green Pulitzer-inspired tablescape was perfect for an outdoor luncheon honoring another Lilly fan into the fold. Even the food was served on Lilly Pulitzer plates!

“When I began planning this event, I sat down and relaxed with a glass of Two Buck Chuckand got some inspiration from Lilly herself…  Essentially Lilly, A Guide to Colorful Entertaining, by Lilly Pulitzer and Jay Mulvaney–a must-have for all Lilly lovers,” Janice said.

Everyone loves to receive a party invitation in the mail, and Janice sent hers out on, of course, Lilly Pulitzer stationery. “They are a must-have for a Lilly event!”

Lilly napkins were tied with pink grosgrain ribbon adding an extra touch to this preppy shower. Beautiful centerpieces in wicker baskets were at each table, with flowers including pink peonies and mint green hydrangea clusters. Even little pink and green umbrellas topped off the pink and green glasses. Shower guests were served pink lemonade out of champagne flutes, such a cute touch, and white daisies accented the drink and dessert tables. Janice created the cupcake toppers DIY-style out of Lilly Pulitzer paper.
