A BFF is So Loved in This Colorful Baby Shower

Best friends share a special bond. They share everything, their secrets, their passions, their sorrows and their joys. This is the case for photographer Emily Crall and her BFF Sara. She first told Emily she was pregnant “in the middle of the mall, by the Verizon kiosk between Panera and Forever 21, because she couldn’t hold it in any longer. I had a premonition that she was, but that didn’t stop us making a scene right there!”

When it comes to planning her dear friend’s baby shower, Emily had a blast with the process. As a photographer, she sees a lot of parties, but had never previously thrown a shower herself. Expecting a son, Emily knew Sara  wouldn’t want something too “boy” themed so when she came across a stunning watercolor and acrylic piece by Katie Daisy, she based the entire party around that color palette.

From that point, Emily went a little nuts in her excitement. “It’s lucky to be in the wedding business because I was able to borrow some items from a local wedding planner Brenda Strief and have all my paper goods ,with the exception of the invitation, printed at Zephyr Weddings.

The menu was made up of fresh vegetables, colorful bite size creations, and sweet desserts. We’re particularly loving the grab-n-go caprese salad and sweet sunrise mocktails. Isn’t her menu colorful!

Emily used 100 diapers to create this beautiful diaper cake. The “M” is made from a wooden letter from Hobby Lobby wrapped in blue yarn. For sizing she used a 12-inch and 10-inch cake pan.

The party favors were shower gels from Bath & Body Works with custom cards.

Making this shower even more amazing, Emily brought this entire shower to Sara at the hospital when she was placed on bed rest before the date. After a quick reshuffling of plans, Sara still had a great baby shower day. “I took in food and we had a small, relaxed shower with her mom, sister-in-law, and me in her hospital room. She hugged me and said it was perfect, which was really all I had wanted for her anyway.” These are the things we do for the people we love.

Thanks so much for sharing Sara’s day with us Emily! Everyone should have a BFF like you!
