Pink Poodle Puppy Birthday Party with Black and White Pops

When Leonie’s daughter, Ashlee, the namesake of her company Ashlee Rae, wanted a ‘girls only’ Pink Poodle party for her 5th birthday party, her chosen color palette was pink, of course! Leonie snuck in some black and white to add a touch of elegance and a punch of pizzazz.

For the invitation and other paper elements, Leonie designed a simple silhouette of a young girl with a pink poodle.  ”To frame the silhouette graphic I used scalloping and stripes in pink black and white.”

For the party food, she created a small dessert table filled with musk sticks, marshmallow clouds, pink popcorn, raspberry mushrooms, strawberry Oreos (with puppy paws!), chocolate cupcakes and cake pops. In the center of the table was a stunning pink ombre buttercream swirl cake.  For the table backdrop she used some gorgeous striped fabric purchased from Fabrics and Trimmings on Etsy and draped some poms poms across it to create a perfect focal point for the desserts.

“My favorite DIY project for this party was the table runner I made for the seated table.  I used a strip of black wrapping paper which was adorned with crepe paper rosettes that I made in three shades of pink. On the table runner, I used a black milk jug to display the gorgeous Poodle Cookie Wands.  They made for a beautiful, fun and delicious centerpiece.”

When the guests arrived at the party, the fun began with some candid photos against a backdrop of pink rosettes.  The girls were then surprised with their very own plush poodles. 

They made their new friends some collar ‘bling’ then enjoyed grooming, feeding and playing with their poodles in ‘The Pampered Poodle’ and the ‘Poodle Palace’ Leonie made from appliance boxes.  

After indulging in sweets from the dessert table, the girls finished off the afternoon with some face painting, a game of ‘Pass the Poodle Bone’, a piñata and some cake.
