Unique Gender Reveal Includes Gumballs at Baby Shower Party

Jessica, a photographer for Twin Pearl Photography, had an original concept for a gender reveal in mind for quite some time. This couple was perfect for the theme! They met when Dad-to-Be, Mike, asked Mom-to-Be, Megan, for a piece of gum! When Jessica presented the idea, Mike was hesitant as he didn’t think he had the patience to wait to learn the baby’s gender. Luckily, a few strong-willed women who trusted her vision were able to talk him into it!

“After finally getting Mike to agree and running around trying to pull this together in just over a week, I was devastated when the skies opened midday, just hours before our gender reveal session. I sat in my car, pulled over on the side of the road, as chunks of ice pelted my windshield and felt my heart sinking. Still, I used my best “sunshine and optimism” voice when I called Mom-to-Be.” Graciously, she indulged the near-begging and agreed to wait it out.

Around 5:30, the sun peeked through the clouds and made the rain sparkle.  “Along the way, I became overwhelmed with the realization that I was the only person who knew the baby’s gender and how momentous this information truly was. I teared up with excitement, joy, and gratefulness for the trust this family placed in me. I am honored beyond words to have had a small part in this life journey.”

Before they found out what baby’s gender was, each guest made a guess for themselves using a gumball. Looks like the majority thought it would be a boy.

Then it came time for Megan and Mike to find out. They closed their eyes and turned around while Jessica put the jar of gumballs in their hands behind their backs.

“I was honored to capture the news being delivered – not only to Meg and Mike, but to their families as well! In attendance: Megan’s mother and father, sisters Kayla and Brianna, and Aunt Trisha; Mike’s mother and brother, Tony, and his grandmother was on speakerphone when they presented the jars.”

Look at the excitement on everyone’s face when they learned they’re having a boy!

After learning they are expecting a son, they were showered with blue gumballs!
