Beautiful Pink Bird Themed First Birthday Party for Twin Girls

When it comes to her twin girls Madison and Mikayla, there is nothing that mom and photographer Leslie Simmons wouldn’t do. And when it came to planning a first birthday bash for her girls, Leslie had a lot of fun planning this party. “I love pink, white and teal together so I worked with those colors for everything.”
At first, she couldn’t decide on a theme. “I kept changing my mind until I saw some cute baby bird decor while looking around for ideas. I started doing some shopping and found a ton of stuff that worked with the theme so I just ran with it. I have always loved baby bird decor. My oldest daughter has Pottery Barn sheets that are baby birds and I love them!”
Centerpieces were bird houses, framed photos of the twins, and small bird cages with birds clipped on them.
Leslie set up a big white tent outside and had a bounce house for the older kids. She also had a craft table for the kids to paint and embellish their own bird house. ” I love crafts and have so little time to do them these days. I painted the birdhouses for the centerpieces and bought the supplies for the paint your own birdhouse. Inside we had a puppet show for entertainment. I wanted the party to be visually appealing to the adults but also be a lot of fun for the kids. Everyone had a great time!”
Along with strawberry milk, cupcakes and candies, the focal point of her dessert tables was the insanely gorgeous cake.
The top layer was filled with strawberry and the bottom was chocolate ganache. “It really was like a work of art. I didn’t want to cut it! It felt like we were going to ruin a work of art! We bought it from Madame Butterfly Cakes, who also did my baby shower cake for my first pregnancy. She is extremely talented!
For favors we had large pink and white cookies!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful day with us Leslie!
