Pink and Yellow Korean Dol First Birthday Party

First birthdays in Korean culture in a big deal, so there’s a lot of focus and effort put into the decor for Lucy of Nspired Events. “For kid’s birthdays, I like to have fun with the colors and mix different two different hues together.” For this particular little lady’s first birthday party, she used pink and yellow.
Lucy echoed the pink and yellow theme throughout all the decorative details – candles, flowers, candies, cupcakes, table runners, and even the flowers on the teddy bears. Making sure that there’s a even distribution of pink and yellow details are key in meshing two distinct colors together.
For the flowers, she used artificial stems and glued them to styrofoam spheres, which are available in most crafts stores. “For the yellow flower balls, I used artificial mums and for the pink flower balls, I used artificial cherry blossoms. I mixed a bit of white flowers for both to soften the look. I also really like using jelly beans for decorative details because they provide a nice, bold pop of color to the display.”
This birthday was held at a Korean restaurant in Toronto called “Sariwon”. The guests were served Korean buffet meal and the cupcakes and rice cakes were served as dessert.
Thanks for sharing this happy day with us Lucy!
