A Blue and Orange Whale of a Girl’s Second Birthday Party
Baby Lifestyles | May 22, 2012 | Comments 3

This whale of a party came to us from Keli, all the way from Brazil, for her daughter Valentina’s second birthday. While her dream was to make a Snow White party with all the typical components of the witch, the prince and seven little men, but was then inspired by a girl’s party she found of whales swimming in the sea. “I liked it because it is very unique theme for girls that already. Everyone always falls in pink.” Valentina loved the idea, so Keli was off finding aqua blue and orange happy whales to swim with!
To dress the birthday girl up for the day, Keli got her a custom outfit complete with a blue whale swimming and giant puffy tutu!
The invitations were done in the colors of the day. Polka dot paper envelopes were embellished by fluffy tissue paper whales. Can you imagine getting something this cute in the mail?!
Keli dressed up her home with blue and orange balloons and framed a huge picture of Valetina with the colorful decorations.
With blue and orange colors, Keli decorated the table with orange whales and blue crepe paper lanterns. Fabric letters spelling out Valentina’s name hung as the backdrop to the magnificent dessert table. Keli and Aunt Valentina (baby girl’s namesake) graced the tiered cake with whales. Keli filled the table with lemon bowls which are bowls with nutella and lemon cream tart, as well as passion fruit and red fruit cheesecake.

The tray-shaped whale gave a charm to the table and more children were delighted when they looked and saw its shape.
At the drink station, orange whales were on the bottles, tied with aqua polka dot ribbons and topped with polka dot straws.
Hello, we are the stuffed whales decorating the party! They weren’t alone. These friendly creatures were everywhere from the decor to the marshmallow candy boxes topped with orange ribbons.
Auntie Carol made layered gelatin in the colors of the party. It took a long time, but how beautiful is the finished product!

Keli ordered custom cups in polka dots and the plates had her happy whale insignia adorned on them.
After a whale of a good time was had, guests left with adorable favor bags in blue and orange and tied with giant ribbons. Souvenir totes for the adults had the orange whale on them as well, a great reminder of a fun-filled day. And look at the adorable whale purses the children went home with! Too cute!
Thanks so much for sharing your party with us Keli!
