First Birthday Party Idea! Peanut Butter and Jelly Sushi Rolls
Baby Lifestyles | Apr 27, 2012 | Comments 0

We’re still going stir crazy over this fun idea. What looks like sushi rolls were actually peanut butter and jelly filled sushi roll ups served at this pinkalicious first birthday party. Even if your baby isn’t old enough for a California roll, they’ll go gaga for food that resembles it! Beyond the fact that they are such a cute take on a classic kid-friendly snack. Not to mention how in a party setting they are awesome finger food on the go! When we asked Mallory how she came up with this party concept, she led us to this recipe at the Jif website.
These Peanut Butter and Jelly Sushi Rolls take three ingredients, three steps, and three minutes. Of course, teaching your toddler how to eat them with chopsticks will probably add time to that.
Here’s how to make them:
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons Creamy Peanut Butter (try Jif®!) and don’t try it with crunch! It won’t roll well.
2 tablespoons Strawberry Jelly, or any Smucker’s® Jam Jelly or Preserves of your choice
2 slices bread
Directions:
REMOVE crusts from bread. With a rolling pin or large soup can, completely flatten bread.
SPREAD 1 tablespoon peanut butter and 1 tablespoon fruit spread on each slice of bread
ROLL each slice into a tight spiral. Cut each spiral into 4 pieces.
Enjoy!
