Grey and Yellow Soothing Calm Baby Nursery Reveal
Baby Lifestyles | Mar 13, 2012 | Comments 1

Before her baby boy was born, mom Lavender snapped a few shots of his serene yellow and grey nursery. Featuring soothing shades and pops of yellow color, he sleeps in a calming room with hints of sunshine.
“I think my favorite things in the room are the rocking chair I thrifted and re-covered. I also love the set of Ikea drawers I upholstered in fabric for Baby’s change table. These were both cheap, easy DIY projects they give the room loads of character. In hindsight though, I probably wouldn’t have left all the crafty DIY decorating as late in my pregnancy as I did. So exhausting!”

Lavender ran up the bunting over the windows with leftover fabric from the drawers. These simple touches of color like the pattern pillow on the chair and the patterned rug add just enough dimension to the room. Rug, also Ikea. Cushions from Spotlight. The Fisher Price record player was Lavender’s when she was a baby. It still works a great and she’s excited for her own baby to learn tunes with it. The little yellow owl cushion and the Sweet Dreams letterpress print are both from Etsy. The owl is by Manic Muffin Totes and the print is from Roll and Tumble Press. “I have a few more Roll and Tumble Press prints around the house and they are fab.”
Lavender made this memo board from an old frame from the oppie and some chicken wire from the local hardware store. “The man at the hardware store looked at me very strangely when I tried to describe what I wanted it for. I should have just told him I was mending a fence.”

Lavender also made these prints for her art collage. As they didn’t know baby’s gender beforehand, the big print with the missing picture now has baby’s name in it. Thanks Lavender for sharing your little one’s room with us!
