Blue Chevron Pattern and Polka Dot Boy Baby Shower

Before she retired to stay home and raise her girls, Anneliese of Aesthetic Nest spent her days in marketing with PowerPoint presentations. “At work PowerPoint always inspired me to spend more time than necessary designing and nudging and playing with motifs in my presentations,” but planning parties and printables takes this love to a whole new level!

This baby shower celebrated a boy, a very different vibe for someone who lives in a house full of girls. “I loved playing with the traditional blue color palette and giving it a more modern spin to fit the mother-to-be’s aesthetic.” It all started with the Oh Baby Boy invitation. Anneliese gave the chevron pattern an accessory of a stitched polka dot and dashed typeface. Anneliese used the chevron pattern throughout the baby shower, even including it as a gift to the mother-to-be. She purchased extra chevron pattern fabric and used it for tablecloths as well.

And for dessert there were blueberry cupcakes with almond frosting. “I love the fondant dots, which match the polka dot garlands I stitched for the tables, and the dotted cupcake wrappers.” She also made cream cheese whoopie pies rolled in blue decorator’s sugar and threw in some old-fashioned rock candy suckers, blue gummi bears, and blue-wrapped menthol chips.

Her favorite part of this baby shower were teh mini book favors for guests to take home. She covered composition books in patterned paper and used one to serve double duty as a place to take notes about the gifts. “I love how the patterns look all stacked together.”

Anneliese also created this “wishes for baby” booklet for the mother-to-be to take home with a page filled in by each guest.
Thanks Anneliese for sharing this fun shower with us!
