After throwing Mia her crazy birthday party, photographer Lauren of  Laurenland Photography  says she will never throw a party of this magnitude again. “All you ladies who do this either for a living or do it for your kids…I applaud you. I didn’t realize how much work and planning it would take.” The result of Lauren’s labor was a colorful and good old-fashioned fun time.

Originally going for a carnival theme, but over time it turned into a colorful theme! Her colorful supplies came from Shop My Little Love, Lauren’s favorite party supply store. “The store owner, Becky, puts a lot of thought into what she stocks and how different and fun each product is (not to mention Becky is the sweetest person you will ever meet.” From striped straws to the assorted color baking cups, Lauren let no little detail go unnoticed.

Lauren made several tables: a candy bar, present table, food table, and goody bag table. “Looking back the goody bag table didn’t work out so well because immediately all the children started stuffing their bags full without even playing a game yet!” I made a sign for each table with cheap colorful frames and the pictures I made in Photoshop. “I also made the chalk board sign myself and made all the poofy things all around it. We hung poof balls from everything, the ceiling, from ceiling fans, stuck them to the back of chairs and even made them into a center pieces. I made all the labels for the Candy Bar and wrote on each one with a Calligraphy pen and got all my jars from Target and from Ben Franklin.”

The mustaches on a stick Lauren made with her Cricut machine, which made a great photo prop! “I decorated all the children’s party hats with the cheap dots you find at office supply stores and also decorated the stand for the cotton candy with the same stickers. And last but not least the amazing cake and cupcakes were made by Cakes by Lee.” Mia’s cake was strawberry with fresh strawberry filling, and Lauren says she and her husband couldn’t stop eating it. “It was that good!”

“I wouldn’t have been able to pull any of this off without the help of my friend Jamie, my husband, mom, and step dad. We were up since 6am getting this party put together…that’s dedication for ya!” Thanks Lauren for sharing Mia’s birthday party with us!
