She’s About to Pop Gender Neutral Colored Baby Shower

One of the best parts about being a photographer is getting to take pictures when those you love get to celebrate milestone moments in life. For Faye Silag, it came when her husband’s classmate from pharmacy school was having her baby shower. Bim is expecting a baby girl to be named Alice. Bim’s husband is back home in California, where he teaches high school algebra, so he isn’t able to experience his wife’s pregnancy with their first child! Bim isn’t totally alone during this time though…her parents live in Philly, and with the help of family and friends, she was able to have an awesome “POP” themed baby shower.

All the decorations (and cake pops) were handmade by the momma-to-be herself. While Bim and Andy are having a girl, this mom didn’t want an everything pink baby shower, so the colors of the baby shower were gender-neutral. Lots of oranges, greens, and blues were used for a unique look– it was a nice change from the usual all-pink themed baby showers for girls. “She chose a great selection of bright colors that made everything look great,” Faye said.

Bim incorporated so many different ideas into her “about to pop” theme. From snap crackle and POP rice crispy treats, to her colorful printables. Bim made the cake pops– strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting. “One of my favorite parts was the wishing tree for baby Alice.”

A couple of the games: Bim had to race the newest mom to see who could put a cloth diaper on a balloon the fastest. “Another game was to make a baby out of a piece of paper, which I couldn’t even conceptualize, let alone execute. The person who won made her cutout with pigtails!”
Thanks Faye for sharing this great shower with us!
