Real Party: Be Our Guest At Belle’s Breakfast Birthday Party

One of our favorite photographers Melissa Darst, has done it again, planning and photographing a beautiful party thrown for one of her children. If you’ve seen her Country Fair Carnival birthday party or the beautiful Apple of My Eye baby shower she’s thrown, you know this photographer uses her eye for detail in the events she puts together. This time, the birthday girl is daughter Maren who had a princess Belle birthday party. If you’re a fan of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast then one of your favorite scenes has to be Lumiere’s rendition of Be Our Guest. Melissa took that inspiration in creating this gorgeous breakfast soiree table.
A whirlwind full of fun, food, glitter and all things Princess Belle, Maren celebrated in princess style. “When I see my kids’ light up at their party the next day, it is always more than worth all the work,” Melissa said. “I’m just so blessed to have my mom by my side for all the planning and decorating, as well as the best hubby and an army of family to help out on the big day.”
Special thanks go out to stamped paper co for invitation design and party printables. Melissa also sends a huge shout out to her friend Anne, who played the special role of Princess Belle. “My daughter is convinced she’s a real princess anyway (ever since she saw her at her wedding in the big white dress!) and Anne was the first person she wanted to invite to her party. Anne drove all the way from Houston to don this Belle dress for me – isn’t she the most perfect Belle? So beautiful!”
Royal invitations were mailed out in metallic gold tubes, requesting children to dress in “regal attire” and come “be our guest” for miss M’s 3rd birthday! Beautiful invitations with outer address label personally addressed to each child. These were rolled up and tied off with glittery gold ribbon and inserted into metallic gold tubes for mailing!
“We had the party at our house and giant inflatable champagne bottles, which lined the sidewalk, greeted guests as they arrived. We set up our dining room just like a formal banquet hall, complete with a big red chair for miss M and all sorts of details inspired from the movie such as oversized, whimsical forks and spoons.”
The table showcased individual place cards and printed menus at each setting and the kids were served plated lunches. Each child received a princess crown and wand or a knight helmet and sword when they arrived and had the chance to have their photo taken with Belle! “Beauty and the Beast” played during the party as the kids played at craft stations with princess stamps, body glitter and nail polish and the opportunity to make their own enchanted mirror as a craft. Custom castle cookies for the boys and yellow Belle dress cookies for the girls served as party favors.
Thanks Melissa for sharing another amazing party with us!
