Baby Reveal: A Backyard Sip and See Celebration

baby sip and see outdoor backyard celebration

Is your home too small for your get together with no great room, formal dining room or even elbow room? No problem! Take the party outside and make some al fresco memories. Aime of It Weddings and Events held an afternoon Sip ‘N’ See in honor of her youngest It Girl, Juliana Elizabeth two months after her birth. Juliana’s Mom Rosemary is “very nature oriented,” Aime explained. “She is a vegetarian and an avid gardener, but she’s also stylish.” The sweet invitation filled with colorful blooms was the perfect way to invite guests to this colorful, outdoor baby debut.

To enhance Mother Nature’s verdant backdrop, Aime tied fresh jasmine to mauve napkins, and planted budding carnations in mason jars trimmed with twine, which also acted as favors for the 40 guests. The natural burlap tablecloths, jasmine vine napkin holders, jarred carnations and crabapples were a nod to the Mom’s  connection with Mother Nature, while the mauve linens added a feminine touch.

Guests flowed through Aime’s house, onto the screened patio and into the garden. (Isn’t her backyard incredible?!?) “Since Juliana was a newborn and had not yet met many of the guests, I knew I wanted to include photos of her for all to see. Rather than the traditional slideshow, I placed lanterns of various sizes on the tables with prints displayed inside for centerpieces with a personal touch.”

For this afternoon gathering, the fare was light and healthy including fruits, crudités, artisinal cheeses and other light bites. On the patio, glass vessels filled with gala apples, bosc pears and black mission figs complemented the simple menu. Mini cupcakes in chocolate-peanut butter, pumpkin spice and vanilla invited guests to nibble.

“In addition to crabapples scattered on the tables, which helped bridge taller and lower elements on the tables, I filled apothecary jars with bosc pears and red McIntosh apples on the buffet table. Flowers are of course a sign of Mother Nature, but the fruits of her labor also help bring the outdoors in.” Thanks Aime for sharing Juliana’s lovely debut with us!
