Real Nursery: A Blue and White Nautical Ship Room

Here’s a peek into Porter’s nautical nursery. Navy blue and white stripes race around the nursery, complimenting the white, beach cottage-style crib and rocking chair. Underneath the window hangs a navy blue and white stripe toy bag. Doesn’t it look like the bottom of a sailboat? When Porter drifts off to sleep, he probably dreams of sailboats, judging by the sailing crib mobile. A lighthouse marks the way towards the natural light of the window. Beautiful white window panes frame the window. It feels almost like you’re looking out the window of a yacht.

One of our favorite nursery decor accessories is found in the nursery. Tying into the nautical theme, Porter’s mom added a collage of starfish to the walls. Maybe Porter will catch a falling star. We’re also loving the shapes on the doors of the changing table dresser. Seashells and sailboat toys sit atop Porter’s clothing dresser and even his towels tie into the nautical theme.

Aunt Nellie made this beautiful seersucker ‘P’ monogram for Porter’s nursery. She hand stitched the white border and chose the perfect blue and white stripe background paper for the frame.

Auntie N also created this personalized set of stationery to welcome her sister’s baby to the world. The set includes “month-to-month” onesie stickers, personalized stationery, and even matching return address labels. I’m sure Porter (and his mom) love this set!
