DIY Cupcake Topper Tutorial

Who doesn’t love a yummy cupcake? Especially when they’re topped with fun homemade creations! Jennifer Gallacher has a great tutorial for using various bits of papers, ribbons, buttons and more to make festive cupcake toppers.
Jennifer says, “I love the Bits embellishments. There are so many uses for these cute tags! I decided to create cupcake toppers for mini cupcakes. You can easily do this with the circular metal-rimmed tags, but I wanted to use the images in the Bits. By punching out the images from the tags, I created a darling flower center for my food picks. These came together quickly and easily!”
Supplies:
a circle hole punch
toothpics
papers
ribbons
buttons or brads
And here’s how you make ‘em:
1. Use a 1” circle punch to punch out your favorite parts of the Bits tags.
2. Tape a toothpick to the back of some Delights.
3. Adhere the punched circles on the buttons of each Delight. This will give the punched circles a raised look. Add a knot of ribbon to each toothpick.
4. Place the toothpicks in cupcakes and serve.
Easy as pie – or rather – cupcakes
