Baby Buggy president and founder, Jessica Seinfeld, enlisted the help of her A-list friends including Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Jerry Seinfeld for an evening of shopping at a Balenciaga pop-up shop in East Hampton to benefit her charity. Dozens of women showed up in the designer’s high, high heels for an evening of private shopping.
Wearing a super-short Balenciaga number and five-inch platforms, the mother of three, children’s cookbook author and follower of Kabbalah spoke passionately about the importance of her philanthropic work. “We’ve got 500,000 kids under the age of 5 living in poverty in New York City. Single moms earning the $8.25 minimum wage can’t afford a pack of diapers.”
Baby Buggy is an organization “dedicated to providing New York City’s families in need with essential equipment, clothing, and products for their infants and young children.” Jessica Seinfeld founded the charity nearly 10 years ago as a way to help underprivileged women cope with the cost of raising children in New York City. She also found good use for all the baby clothes, cribs and strollers accumulating in her apartment above Central Park.
