What does the ‘C’ in CBS stand for? Charlie Moonves. Julie Chen co-anchor of the “Early Show” and CBS President and CEO Leslie Moonves welcomed a son named Charlie on September 24. Mother and baby are said to be doing well. Charlie is the first child for Chen and Moonves, who have been married since 2004. He joins Moonves’ three children from his first marriage.
Chen announced that her due date was October 4. On Sept. 18, before she left for maternity leave, her “Early Show” co-anchors threw her a baby shower on the air. Chen has co-hosted “The Early Show” since 2002 and was the show’s news anchor for three years prior to that (when it was also called the “CBS Morning News”). She’s hosted “Big Brother” since its debut on CBS in 2000.
