Tisha Campbell-Martin Has a Cirque du Bebe Baby Shower

Tisha Campbell-Martin headed to the big top for a baby shower over the weekend. Tisha and her husband, Duane Martin, enjoyed a Cirque du Bebe shower on July 18, hosted by family friend Jayneoni Moore and styled by party impresario Jennifer Sbranti of Hostess with the Mostess.

Admittedly, it was hard for Tisha to let go and let her people handle the party, but it paid off. “I was so surprised by everything and how extraordinary the party was,” she told People magazine. “I am such a control freak and usually plan my parties, but this was the most beautiful – from the people, to the decor, to the food.”

Celebrity guests including Samuel L. Jackson, Leah Remini, Holly Robinson Peete, Eriq La Salle, Cedric the Entertainer, and Niecy Nash got to wet theri whistles with signature cocktails while those that couldn’t have alcoholic drinks (like Tisha) sipped blueberry lemonade. Guests also enjoyed fine, French-infused munchies like, le petite beef sliders topped with brie (a fancy way to say mini cheeseburgers) and olive pâté. And let’s not forget the 5-tier tower of cupcakes!

The lavish location was transfomred into a whimsical wonderland complete with mod elephant vases, monkey statues, zebra-print tablecloths, sparkly crystals and giant ostrich feather ‘trees’ compired of more than 200 electric blue and golden yellow feathers.

“Everyone enjoyed themselves,” said Tisha. “It felt more like a family reunion than anything else, which was just the best!” Tisha and Duane’s newest addition, a boy, is due sometime in early fall. He’ll be joining big brother Xen, who will turn 8 years old next month.
