How Does Nadya Suleman Handle Octuplets With Long Nails?

If you paid close attention to the footage of Nadya Suleman handling her octuplets on either the Today Show of her interview with Ann Curry, you might have noticed that as she laid her hands on the heads of her children, she did so with some very long, manicured finger nails.
Ken Gerenraich, a podiatrist who serves as CEO of Woodward Laboratories, a California company that makes hand, foot, and skin antimicrobials noticed it too. After seeing the footage, he decided to send a letter to the octomom, and forwarded a copy to USA Today.
“The world has seen the video of you lovingly touching your babies, and it has been scientifically proven that premature babies benefit from human touch,” Gerenraich writes. “However, you may not know that those sweet caresses are putting your children in harm’s way … There is no place for long nails in a medical facility, and I encourage you — for the safety of your babies and their fragile health — to either remove your artificial nails or wear gloves whenever you are touching them.”
Washing your hands isn’t enough, Gerenraich says. “Artificial or long natural nails can be terribly unsanitary, and the majority of germs present on hands, even after washing, are found under the nails.”
Using antimicrobial products won’t solve the problem, because they can’t kill germs in debris trapped under long nails, says the man who makes his living selling antimicrobial products. Artificial nails are particularly hazardous, Gerenraich says, because more germs can be trapped between them and the natural nails underneath.
“For the health and wellness of your children,” he writes, “I hope you will take my advice to wear short nails or gloves when caring for your children.”
Now the only question we have for the soon-to-be forclosed on, unemployed, living on foodstamps, mother of 14 children, how do you even have the time or money to get your nails done?

I think Nadya is a very caring person as far as her nails go who the hell cares she deserves to take care of herself and if that is her piece of mind then so be it. Whenever she does something her children are taken care of. I like her as a person and she always brings GOD into it which is something that we ALL should have. I really like Nayda I like her beliefs and the way she cares for her children like she says to her mother these babies are here now and have to be taken care of. As far as I am concerned she is not crazy at all she seems like a calm, caring,loving person and during the first show which is still on those teenagers that poked their heads in and asked do u need a babysitter Nadya said “u need to wash your hands alot”. Which to me is very important. From what I see I think Nadya is a sincere great human being, and she is a very strong willed person even though I don’t think she knows the work involved yet but she will and will beable to handle it with HELP including GOD! I have confidence in her like I said I like her alot and she will beable to do it!
