Halle Berry Tells Ellen She’s Mentally Ready for Another Baby

“Yeah, my mind says yes, but the rest isn’t up to me — so we’ll see,” Berry, 42, says on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres show that airs tomorrow, March 31. While the Academy Award winning actress is open to having more kids – but don’t expect her to be like octuplets’ mom Nadya Suleman.

Berry confirms to Ellen that she wants another child, but says she’s not up for double digits. “I hope I don’t have like 14 more,” quips Berry, who is mom to 1-year-old Nahla Ariela. Still, Berry isn’t ruling out that a brother or sister could be in the future for her daughter with model Gabriel Aubry. “My mind says yes,” she tells DeGeneres, “but the rest isn’t up to me so we’ll see.” (It’s the same thing she told Jay Leno during a recent appearance on the Tonight Show.)

The couple recently celebrated their daughter’s first birthdaywith a low-key affair. “I don’t really understand why you have to [have a big party],” she admitted. “We had cheap little party hats, from like CVS.” The small fête — and her reluctance to have another baby — is in no way indicative of her feelings for her daughter, however. Raved Halle, “I am enjoying motherhood. It’s been the best thing that has ever happened to me in my whole life, actually.”
